Final Billing

Definition

Final Billing is the terminal billing transaction in SAP Utilities, specifically triggered when a customer physically moves out of an installation or when a contract is entirely terminated.

Business Purpose and Architecture

The business purpose of Final Billing is to completely close out a contract’s financial obligations and prevent any further revenue generation on that specific business partner’s account at that location. Architecturally, it acts similarly to a Periodic Billing run, but with critical exceptions: it forces the cancellation of any open, unpaid budget billing payments for the period, and it categorically prevents any future Budget Billing Plan from being generated.
