Formula Profiles
Definition
Formula Profiles are algorithmically generated, dynamic virtual datasets produced entirely mathematically within Energy Data Management by executing a predefined combinatorial or subtractive operation against one or more master physical input arrays.
Business Purpose and Architecture
A utility often desires billing based on complex corporate totals rather than singular devices. Architecturally, if an industrial grid boasts three massive input conduits and one solar generator output conduit, EDM does not store the overall net explicitly as raw meter data. Instead, it generates a Formula Profile. Through continuous background processing mapping against the active Formula, EDM mathematically ingests the three input arrays, subtracts the export array natively inside the formula matrix, and dynamically creates an active, fully validated virtual matrix exclusively used downstream for flawless unified billing.
